Advice (for a friend)

Humility is one thing, self-hate is another.
Stop hating yourself - get over it.  Dust yourself off and get yourself out there.
You are an incredibly talented person.  And your talents are being wasted right now.
The job you work at doesn’t appreciate you, and you know it!
You see it as security, I see it as a glass ceiling.

Start your project / idea today.  It doesn’t have to be perfect.  Just start.
The sooner you start, the sooner you can move on to another and another and then finally leave your crap job- and be truly free.
Your first project may suck, it may be imperfect - that’s okay.  At least you’ll have started.

Quit being afraid of failure.  The opposite of success isn’t failure.  It’s NEVER trying.
I say this all the time!  Failure is on the road to success.

Please stop crippling yourself with fear.  What’s the worst that can happen?
You’re not going to die from trying your ideas.  You’re not going to become homeless either.

Spread your creative wings...  you were designed to soar.

You need to stop listening to that liar in your head that tells you that you’re no good.
That liar is a total jerk.  Kick his fat butt out the door and lock him out -  forever.

Quit making excuses like:
“I’ll start when I can get a new/better camera, computer, program, etc…”
That’s BS.  You can accomplish your ideas and goals with what you have in front of you.
All you need to do is start!

If you really need new gear to start, then sell some crap to fund it.
Eat noodles for a month.  Deliver pizza’s.
Do whatever you need to do in order to achieve your goals.
Don’t let anything get in your way.

I’ve always said that if you want something bad enough, if you’re truly hungry enough, you’ll find
a way to get and/or achieve your goal.

So do you?  Do you want freedom?  Do you want your goals bad enough?
Are you hungry enough?

If you are, then stop feeling sorry for yourself and quit making excuses and start - today.
You are way too talented and are screwing this world out of your talent if you don’t begin creating and sharing now.  I dare you to move!

Yes, you’ll trip.  You’ll make mistakes.
And yes, you may fail.  But so what.  It’s what you do afterwards that counts.

I tell my kids this all the time:  “It’s not the situation that determines who you are, it’s how you handle it.”

You know I’m here to help guide you.  Guide, not “do for you”.
It’s the “Give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish” thing.  That’s where we’re at.

It is you that needs to take the steps necessary to start.
I can only coach and encourage you along your path.

So please, for your sake… for the world’s sake…

Start.     : )

Your friend,

If you need more motivation, maybe this will help.  Play it.  LOUD.
