An Update

Hey everyone!  Can you believe we are almost through the first quarter of 2018!?  Crazy…

This year is off to an amazing start for me and I wanted to share with you all an update on last year and what to expect from me this year.

2017 was an insanely good year filled with many awesome projects which have kept me very busy into this first quarter of 2018.  Last year went down as my best year ever since 2007, not only in the amount of jobs booked but also in the types of projects I took on.

While my primary focus is (and always will be) on architectural photography, I also enjoy working on other projects that challenge me creatively and that also dovetail into the reason I got into photography in the first place - landscape photography.

Not only did I officially add aerial drone photography to my services (I hold a UAS pilots license) but I was awarded a sweet gig photographing for Explore Alexandria tourism.  This has been a really fun project to work on because it encompasses so many photographic disciplines. As an ongoing project, it has allowed me to use my eclectic skillset to provide Explore Alexandria with a diverse library of images - from landscapes, to lifestyle, architecture, cityscapes, aerial, etc..

Another project that has kept me quite busy is for a company called Lumē Deodorant.  Lumē is a game-changer as it is an all-natural product that works anywhere on your body - not just underarms.  The owner and inventor, Dr. Shannon Klingman, reached out to me in June of last year for some product photography.  But when discussing her needs, she quickly realized that I could offer her so much more.  In short, I ended up designing the website and e-commerce system, did the product photography and am now a content creator for Lumē.  This involves creating all things visual - photo, video, web, graphics, etc.

Like the Explore Alexandria work, this project also provides the necessary challenges I need in order to remain creative.

On top of all that we had started renovating our old farmhouse in March of last year.  Let's just say it hasn't gone according to schedule - or budget.  No surprise, right?  Nonetheless, we’re making great headway doing the majority of the work ourselves and it is all coming together beautifully.

But there is so much more to do and more to come.  I feel like 2018 is going to be another great year as I continue to stretch my creative wings and soar on to new and exciting heights in the various photographic disciplines I enjoy working in.

In the weeks and months ahead I will be making the necessary updates to my portfolio galleries and adding  content to my blog.  I also plan to begin a new chapter in my photographic career which I will announce in due time.

In the meantime, please enjoy a very small sample of some of my favorite images from 2017 (keep in mind that some still need final retouching).
