The Challenge:

Inconsistency Hurts Your Brand, Wastes Time & money

Projects rarely follow a tidy timeline. Deadlines shift, priorities change, and photography often becomes an afterthought — creating challenges such as:

  • Scheduling stress —hours lost sourcing and booking a photographer.
  • Limited availability — the right photographer may already be booked.
  • Inconsistent results — different photographers, styles, and processes weaken your brand.

“Before bringing John on retainer, my team spent hours—sometimes days—searching for quality architectural photographers near our jobsites. From the initial search to obtaining estimates and securing bookings, the process demanded significant time and patience. With the retainer in place, that time is now freed up for my team to focus on sales enablement, marketing, and advertising. It’s a win for both the marketing team and the company’s overall growth trajectory and its ability to bring in new business.”

FAQ

How is a retainer different from booking job by job?

A retainer guarantees availability and consistency. With job-by-job booking, you risk scheduling delays, inconsistent visuals, and higher administrative overhead.

How many shoots are included in a retainer?

Each agreement is customized to your firm’s needs. Some firms may prefer quarterly coverage, while others need multiple shoots each month. We’ll build a plan that matches your project flow.

Can we adjust the retainer if our project load changes?

Yes. Retainers are designed to be flexible. If your needs increase or decrease, we can adjust accordingly.

Does a retainer save money?

Yes. In addition to the hidden administrative costs, clients find that a retainer simplifies scheduling and also provides cost predictability. It often eliminates rush fees and reduces the added costs of inconsistent imagery (think reshoots).

How long is the commitment?

Most retainers are set up on a 12-month basis, but shorter terms can be arranged if preferred.

Who typically benefits most from a retainer?

Architects, contractors, developers, and design/build firms with multiple projects each year benefit the most. It keeps their marketing materials consistent and ready on demand.
